This Cookie Policy explains how JoinMeIn uses cookies and similar technologies to support core website functionality, remember your preferences, improve performance, and deliver a safer experience.

Table of Contents

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device, such as a computer, mobile phone, or tablet, when you visit a website. They help the website recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as preferences and activity.

Cookies improve your browsing experience by keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, and helping us understand how users interact with our platform.

2. Why We Use Cookies

JoinMeIn uses cookies to provide a smooth, secure, and personalized experience.

We use cookies to ensure the platform functions properly, remember your preferences and settings, improve performance and user experience, analyze how users interact with the platform, detect fraud, spam, and misuse, and provide relevant content and features.

Cookies help us make our platform faster, safer, and more useful.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

1. Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly.

  • Login sessions.
  • Security and authentication.
  • Basic platform functionality.
  • Without these cookies, the website may not work correctly.

2. Performance & Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how users interact with our platform.

  • Track usage patterns.
  • Improve features and performance.
  • Fix bugs and issues.
  • All data collected is aggregated and does not directly identify you.

3. Functional Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences and settings and help provide a more personalized experience.

  • Language preferences.
  • Display settings.
  • Saved user choices.

4. Marketing Cookies, Off by Default

This category exists in our consent tool for completeness, but we do not currently run advertising or behavioural-targeting cookies on the JoinMeIn website.

  • We do not serve third-party behavioural ads.
  • We do not use your data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • If we ever introduce marketing cookies, they will remain off until you switch them on in the cookie banner, and we will update this policy first.

4. The JoinMeIn Mobile Apps

This Cookie Policy is about our website. The JoinMeIn apps for iOS and Android do not use browser cookies.

Instead, the apps use local device storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and cache content so screens load quickly. This storage is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app.

The apps contain no third-party advertising SDKs. We do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or the Google Advertising ID to track you, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the apps therefore do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

The apps do use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate feature usage and diagnose crashes. This is used to improve the product, never to build advertising profiles. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of services we rely on.

5. First-Party vs Third-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set by JoinMeIn directly.

Third-party cookies are set by external services, such as analytics providers or embedded content providers.

Third-party cookies are governed by the privacy policies of those external services.

6. How Long Cookies Stay on Your Device

Cookies may be stored for different durations depending on their purpose.

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or are deleted.
